Nigerian Army: We will Deal with Nnamdi Kanu

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in Abuja, has declared its readiness to deal decisively with Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), over his threat to make Nigeria “hell” when he returns to the country. The DHQ also vowed to stop any person or group planning to cause mayhem in the country. It has, therefore, advised those stockpiling weapons with the intention of causing havoc in the 2019 general election in the country, to have a rethink.
Director, Defence Information, Brig-Gen. John Agim, gave the warning at a media briefing on the successes of military operations across the country in Abuja on Thursday. “Operation 777 is on and whoever that is coming to Nigeria with hell, Operation 777 will contend with the person, be it Nnamdi Kanu or any other person,” Agim said. He said Operation 777 was launched to specifically, to tackle those planning to disintegrate the country. According to Agim, Operation 777 which came into existence on October 8, has killed 35 suspected criminals and arrested 98 bandits in the last two weeks.

Biafra: Gov. Ikpeazu under attack over comment on Nnamdi Kanu’s family

The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, has been attacked by the family of the missing leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. Ikpeazu is under fire over his purported comment concerning the whereabouts of Kanu’s father, Eze Isreal Kanu. Eze Kanu is also a traditional ruler in Isiama-Afaraukwu Umuahia community.
The spokesman for Kanu’s family, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, warned the governor against playing politics with their father’s whereabouts. Nnamdi Kanu and his parents have been missing since September 14, 2017 after the military raided the palace. Ikpeazu had told some people from Afaraukwu who paid him a visit at the Government House that the state government was making efforts alongside other South-East governors to find the monarch. Ikpeazu also said he had no hand in the military invasion of the community during the operation Python Dance ll. Reacting to the Governor’s comment, Emmanuel urged Ikpeazu to “look for better ways to entertain his guests and not use Kanu as a campaign slogan for his re-election bid.”
He said, “the Governor should be mindful of his utterances concerning the whereabouts of the monarch and his other family members yet to be sighted since the military raid on the palace last year.” He wondered why, “the governor didn’t think it was wise to visit the family over a year that our father, mother and brother disappeared but now making them campaign tools.’’

IPOB Sit-At-Home: Members In Equatorial Guinea Lock Their Shops (SEE PHOTOS)

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, declared a sit-at-home protest across the states in the South-East and some states in the South-South to mark the one year anniversary since their leader Nnamdi Kanu disappeared after his home was invaded. IPOB members in Bata, Equatoria Guinea, also decided to join in the protest, even though they do not do business in Nigeria, and they’ve taken to social media to share photos of their locked shops to show their support for IPOB members in Nigeria.

The sit-at-home protest comes exactly one year after the Nigerian Army invaded the Afaraukwu, Umuahia country home of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. Since the invasion on September 14, 2017, Nnamdi Kanu has not been seen and his whereabouts remain unknown. His parents have also not been seen since then.

IPOB:Swiss embassy refusal to grant Kanu's family visa is unlawful

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) yesterday accused the Swiss embassy in Abuja of ‘aiding and abetting’ by reportedly refusing to grant entry visa to some members of Kanu’s family into Switzerland. In a statement in Enugu by its Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the IPOB said the development was a clear case of “criminal conspiracy between a member of staff of the Swiss embassy in Abuja and the Nigerian government to deny United Nations’ investigators access to vital information and facts surrounding the murderous invasion of Nnamdi Kanu’s compound by the Nigerian military”
In another development, the Commissioner of Police (CP) in Enugu State, Mr. Mohammed Danmallam, has allayed fears of a possible breach of public peace in the state due to the sit-at-home order by the IPOB. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the police commissioner, who made the remark yesterday at a meeting with the Bankers Forum in Enugu against the backdrop of the September 14 sit-at-home order in the South-East by IPOB, said security agencies in the state had made adequate arrangements, in collaboration with major stakeholders, to ensure effective surveillance and security of lives and property before, during and after the stay at home order. In the same vein, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Galansach Dasuki, in a statement yesterday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Andrew Enwerem, said the command would apply show of force in its operations in handling the issue of threat by members of the group.
In another development, the United States (U.S.) embassy yesterday in Abuja flagged off a workshop to equip Nigerians with innovative ideas for effective engagement with local audiences in the 12 American spaces located across the country. The U.S. Embassy Counsellor for Public Affairs, Aruna Amirthanayagam, in his opening remarks at the yearly workshop for the American spaces’ co-ordinators, expressed appreciation to the team and partners.

Biafra: IPOB reacts very angrily over fresh military exercise in Igbo land

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has raised the alarm over another military exercise in Isiama Afaraukwu, Abia State. Accordingly, IPOB has described the exercise as an act of provocation. A statement by Emma Powerful, IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, condemned the exercise which, he said, comprised of a combined team of the Navy, Army, Police, Immigration, and Civil Defence. The separatists group said the exercise would be a “second invasion of our leader’s village, Afaraukwu, Umuahia, Abia State”. The group said a combination of the army, police, and the paramilitary is “another military overreach by the Fulani-controlled hierarchy of the Nigerian defence establishment.” According to the group, “This is a clear confirmation that the entire East is under siege for no apparent reason other than the need for the Fulani caliphate to prove their dominance over the rest of Nigeria.”
It said the blatant provocation was one of the many reasons why it called for a nationwide strike on September 14, 2018, “to protest the military occupation of Biafraland”. “Biafrans are peaceful people but this unfortunate invasion of our villages and the home of our leader in this 2018 may result in unintended consequences,” the group warned. “The very quiet Afaraukwu Ibeku community in Umuahia, Abia State, now has more military presence and activity than Sambisa forest,” it said.

UPPER IWEKA ONITSHA A DANGEROUS PLACE LIKE NEVER BEFORE (READ)

Robbers collecting all valuables from us on a holdup in a busy road with huge pedestrians, hawkers watching, roadside stalls and shop owners watching, none came to our rescue. None tried alerting the police men some meters away. All other vehicles on the holdup wind up their windows and locked their car doors. They all watched as we were stripped of everything we had on us in our car around 5:30pm (it was still broad daylight) yesterday at Upper Iweka Onitsha.
I have always read several accounts by commuters and vehicle owners who had similar robbery experience on Facebook. They always gave out some security tips like 'lock up your windows while in a holdup'. I forgot all that because my car was filled up with my family members. I didn't want to use the AC because of the mentality that AC consumes fuel. Then, this horrible young man walked up to our car, placed his hand on the car window and said ' nna choro boys ihe' meaning young man look for something for the boys. He was referring to my brother who was driving. My brother told him there was was nothing. Immediately he said that, the thief brought up a knife wrapped in a red cloth and was very careful so that onlookers won't know what was happening. He repeated if you don't want me to massacre you all here bring out all you have. My sister was about saying don't give him anything, another young man with a knife came to my window side and said if you make noise I will kill you here. So I brought out my purse and gave him some money. He threatened me with his knife and said bring that whole purse. I then remembered I had my ATMS, voter's card, national ID, driver's license and office ID in the purse, plus the bundle of cash I withdrew that evening for the journey. Something in me refused to hand over the purse.
By this time, he was threatening to stab me with his knife. I brought out the entire money and gave to him. The other thief was also collecting from my brother and Inlaw. I managed to hide my phone, while the first thief was threatening my brother. They collected everything to their satisfaction and left, crossed the road to the other arm of the highway while looking back at us. Meanwhile, there were other fierce looking young men with big planks and sticks on the holdup pretending to be helping with the traffic. I think they are of the same gang. They were only watching out for the other two Robbers. I am glad that they left us unscathed. I don't know what would have happened if we were wounded.
Do you know we drove to the police check point and informed them? They only asked where it happened, we pointed to the bridge. They said we should park and go with them to point at the boys if we could recognize them. My brother advised we move away and we did. How can we go and point to Robbers who have already moved? Is there wisdom in that question from the police? After they left, one bus driver drove to our side and said, 'don't you know that you wind up your glasses whenever you are on a holdup in Onitsha?' I learnt several lessons from this encounter with the men of the underworld at Onitsha. Upper Iweka is a very dangerous place in South Eastern Nigeria, all sorts of evil happen there but I never knew it could happen in a broad daylight.

Biafra: ‘Shame on you’ – IPOB blasts South East Governors, Ohanaeze for betraying Igbos

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has lambasted the South East Governors Forum, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other prominent leaders in the region for their seeming silence on the alleged plight of pro-Biafra groups in the hands of the Nigerian government. IPOB, in a statement signed by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, described as hypocritical and belated the statement credited to the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, over the detention of women members of IPOB in Owerri, Imo State.
The statement reads, “The attempt by Nnia Nwodo to endear himself to the wider public through his latest hypocritical press statement, has failed woefully. “If the aim is to milk the goodwill of our people still basking in the euphoria of the release of our mothers who were illegally abducted, shamefully detained and humiliated by the Nigerian state, he has failed woefully. “Where was Nwodo the day our mothers and grandmothers were corralled into a stinking prison by a Fulani Police Commissioner working on the orders of his fellow northerner Rochas Okorocha? “Why didn’t he personally issue a statement? He didn’t because he was gloating that our mothers will suffer in detention as a way of getting back at IPOB. Those he spoke to told IPOB his exact words.
“His belated statement is too late and will not absolve him of his role in the ongoing persecution, murder and proscription of IPOB. “When well meaning people all over the world, including Oby Ezekwesili, a certain northern governor and presidential aspirant, were busy condemning the atrocious detention of innocent Igbo mothers, Nwodo and all Igbo governors maintained their usual slavish silence for fear of offending their northern masters. Ike Ekweremadu never uttered a word either. But his chieftaincy title is Ikeoha, which means the warrior of the people. “We the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) Worldwide reaffirm our previous stance that the silence of South East governors, Ohaneze leadership, Igbo politicians and front line traditional rulers, in the face of such overwhelming humiliation of an entire race, is confirmation that Biafraland in general and Igboland in particular is a conquered and occupied territory, superintended by a cowardly class of traitors answerable to Fulani caliphate. “For Nwodo’s information and that of Rochas Okorocha with his Fulani led Imo State Police Command, the arrest of our mothers is illegal. “Therefore, the idea of sounding magnanimous in press statements is downright foolish. IPOB always win every court case against Nigeria, hence no single conviction has ever been secured against us till date and they never will. “When you cheer your oppressors, as Nnia Nwodo, Igbo governors and politicians seem to enjoy doing anytime IPOB family members are detained illegally, you forfeit every authority to speak on behalf of the people because IPOB is the people and people is IPOB. “Nnia Nwodo of Ohaneze Ndigbo and their fellow collaborators never uttered a word when our mothers were abducted, tortured, humiliated and spat on by Fulani controlled Nigerian Police. “They are now glibly mouthing their usual nonsense to deceive the gullible and shore up their battered image. “We remind Nnia Nwodo that we have not forgotten the massacre at Afaraukwu on 14 September 2017. We also wish to remind him that it was Igbo governors that proscribed IPOB first, not Aso Rock, as he would like to have the people believe
“Was it not the same Nnia Nwodo that stood on the steps of Enugu Government House alongside Igbo governors to proscribe IPOB at the same time Buratai’s Fulani soldiers were busy killing innocent youths inside Nnamdi Kanu’s compound? “Terrorist tag against IPOB came after Igbo governors and Ohaneze Ndigbo first proscribed the movement. It was Nnia Nwodo, Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma and Chief Guy Ikokwu a Lagos based informant and errand boy, that shared money donated by Igbo governors to corrupt Igbo traditional rulers at Nike Lake Resort Enugu on or around the 15th of September 2017 to support the proscription of IPOB. “Sadly, Igbo traditional rulers led by Eze Eberechi Dick, who is a personal friend of Buhari’s cousin Mamman Daura, presided over this process of shame. “We are not unaware that it was Nnia Nwodo that personally appealed to the commander of 82 Division Enugu and Abba Kiyari the real power behind Buhari-Jubril to launch Operation PYTHON DANCE. They think they are smart and we IPOB uninformed. It is in the open that same Nnia Nwodo and co are responsible for the impending Operation PYTHON DANCE 3. “It is instructive that Nnia Nwodo admitted that northern governors protected treasonous Arewa Youths. Compare that to the treatment of IPOB by Igbo governors and understand that Igboland has been sold to the north. “Nnia Nwodo keeps using the language that IPOB are his children whilst forgetting that four of our kidnapped mothers released from Owerri prisons are older than him. “We especially commend Amnesty International, Intersociety, World Jewish Council, SERAP, social media activists, commentators, men and women of goodwill that stood up to defend the constitutional right to freedom of assembly.
“Shame on all Igbo governors, politicians and traditional rulers that were so terrified of the Fulani caliphate they couldn’t defend their own mothers. “Only now, after our mothers have been released have they found their voice. There is a popular Igbo adage that reads, nwoke lucha ogu, nwanyi enwere akuko. In the case of Nnia Nwodo it is now umunwayi IPOB lucha ogu, umunwoke Ohaneze enwere akuko. How the mighty has fallen,” the statement noted

PMB (Buhari) Administration 'Approved By God', -Says Okorocha

Okorocha, who led the delegation to Daura, commended the President for his efforts in uniting the country and for being focused and unshaken by situations, stating that “it shows that your administration is approved by God”. Rochas Okorocha, Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, has said the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is divinely ordained. He stated this when some governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) paid the President a visit in his hometown in Daura, Katsina State, on Thursday.
Okorocha, who led the delegation to Daura, according to a statement by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, commended the President for his efforts in uniting the country and for being focused and unshaken by situations, stating that “it shows that your administration is approved by God”. He also said: “We are here to encourage you to keep doing what you are doing you as Nigerians are very very pleased with you. “We also want to inform you that we had wonderful and peaceful Sallah celebration across the country because of security of lives and property you have guaranteed in our nation.’’

Biafra:names of women arrested in IMO state as Intersociety has ordered IMO state Gov't to release them

The International Society for Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law (Intersociety), has asked the Nigerian and Imo State Governments to discontinue, withdraw and discharge all the 10-count charges of treasonable felony, conspiracy to commit treasonable felony and terrorism levelled against over 100 women arrested during a pro Biafra protest. Intersociety, in a statement signed by Board Chairman Emeka Umeagbalasi and Head, Civil Liberties and Rule of Law Programme, Obianuju Joy Igboeli, Esq, accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration of pushing Igbos to the wall.
“The incarcerated Mothers of Igbo Nation deserve apologies and reparative packages for their wrongful detention and being labeled “terrorists” and “felons” in Government’s panicky and draconian response to their use of “braziers as human rights kits” to protest Government’s sundry atrocities against their children and husbands,” it said. “In line with the recent Judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on unconstitutionality of the so called “Holden Charge”, we further call upon the Chief Justice of Nigeria and the AGF, as case may be, to issue a practice direction to all Magistrates in Nigeria to refrain from using their Courts to effect indiscriminate dumping of suspects in prison custodies especially in offences the said Magistrates and their Courts do not have jurisdiction to try,” “Common sense and logic suffix that where a Magistrate Court cannot exercise jurisdiction over an offence before the Court, such zero jurisdiction must be exercised fully including non admittance of the arraignment of the suspects connected to the zero jurisdiction matter or by not allowing the charge sheet to be read in open Court. The arresting and detaining authorities coming to the Court with such zero jurisdiction matter should be sent out of the Court or ordered to take their detainees to the appropriate Courts (i.e. High Court) and charged them accordingly. “Analysis done by Intersociety on their social and family backgrounds clearly shows that most of them are mothers of young children. Those under this category are between the ages of 22 and 45, numbering 80. Yet their incarceration and torture has attracted little or no attention locally and internationally.
“This is in spite of the fact that they did not commit any felony during their street protest, with no gun or rifle of any kind or IEDs found in their possession or from any of them; except flags and insignias and other faith objects such as bangles, chaplets, bibles, necklaces, sachets of water, etc. Still they were arrested, detained, tortured and labeled “terrorists” and “treasonable felons”; with the world maintaining inexplicable silence of congregated and aggregated proportion till date. “It is recalled that the incarcerated Mothers of the Igbo Nation whose names are provided below had on 17th August 2018 embarked on peaceful street protest (guaranteed by Sections 39 and 40 of the 1999 Constitution under rights to freedom of expression, assembly and movement) in Owerri, Imo State. “The street protest was organised by the unarmed, defenseless and innocent women to express their deep displeasure over persecutory policies of the present central Government in Igbo Land including ceaseless killing in hundreds by the same Government of unarmed and defenseless pro Biafra activists and maiming of hundreds of others as well as planned “Army Python Dance 111” and non disclosure of the whereabouts of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu and his royal parents, HRH, Eze Israel Okwu and Lolo Ugoeze Nnene Kanu who reportedly went missing following the military invasion of their Afara-ukwu Palace near, Umuahia on 14th September 2017. “The police and other security agencies, on orders of the Government of Imo State and the Federal Government of Nigeria resorted to use of draconian methods by getting them rounded up and detained for three days at the State Police Command Headquarters in Owerri; from where they were arraigned at Owerri Magistrate Court, presided over Mrs. S.K. Kaduruma. The arraignment was with charge number: OW/430/2018: CP Imo State v Ijeoma Okorie (30yrs) & 111 ors. The Legal and Prosecution Department of the State Police Command represented by SP Thaddeus Okechukwu later read 10-count spurious charges of “treasonable felony”, “conspiracy to commit treasonable felony”, “terrorism”, among others. “Despite efforts made by their team of lawyers led by Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor to draw the judicial attention of the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. S.K. Kaduruma to the recent judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria to the effect that “a Magistrate Court that does not have jurisdiction to try an offense brought before her, cannot exercise same jurisdiction she does not have by remanding the alleged offenders of the offence to prison custody”, the presiding Magistrate ignored same, hiding under the same cover of “orders from above” and remanded the 112 Mothers to prison custody and adjourned till 3rd September 2018. Intersociety, in the statement, identified most of the incarcerated women follows: Afoma Umoh Wisdom (64yrs), Virginia Akwufube (62yrs), Ezike Emmanuela (62yrs), Uzoma Oraka (62yrs), Charity Obioha (60yrs), Chinyere Nwachukwu (55yrs), Udeogu Margret (58yrs), Ratchel Okengwu (58yrs), Angelina Felix (55yrs), Monica Anaelechi (54yrs), Esther Osuji (52yrs), Florence Olewembu (52yrs), Nkechi Ekwedisika (52yrs), Kosarachukwu Udegbunam (51yrs), Josephine Ogolo (51yrs), Monica Nwaeleke (50yrs), Mabel Okoire (50yrs), Chika Njoku (50yrs), Grace Nkemakolam (50yrs), Paulina Awunezi (50yrs), Christiana Muonwuba (50yrs), Margret Eze (50yrs), Florence Egede (50yrs), Rose Osuchukwu (50yrs), Comfort Uti (50yrs), Nnedinma Onuoha (49yrs), Agatha Nwachukwu (49yrs).

IPOB:‘Don’t come close to Enugu Government House’ – Police warn Zionists

The Nigeria Police has warned members of the Biafra Zionists Federation, BZF, against its planned take-over of the Enugu State Government House, tomorrow, Monday, August 20. It was reports that self-acclaimed President of the group, Barr. He had called on all University students in the middle belt and Southern Nigeria to come out, “Because all our future and destiny is tied in this Biafra quest, nobody should be afraid. Market traders come out, transporters come out, Ohanaeze Ndigbo come out, Avengers, IPOB, MASSOB, but don’t come with any weapon.”http://dailypost.ng/2018/08/06/ipob-sale-no-going-back-biafra-zionists/ However, in a press statement issued Saturday night by the Enugu Police command, it said anyone found fomenting trouble under any guise would be dealt with. Ekweremadu writes to the presidency :Sir, The leadership of this nation has all come from one part of the country

Today, I raised a Point of Order on the lopsided appointments by the executive arm of government. This position was supported by many Senators, especially Senators Chuka Utazi, Obinna Ogba, and Mao Ohufbunwa. The Senate eventually directed the Committee on Federal Character to investigate the appointments made so far by the present administration and report back to it on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. Below is my intervention: “I want to draw the attention of this Senate to the provisions of Section 14 (3) of our constitution.
It says: ‘The composition of the government of the Federation or any of its agencies and the conduct of its affairs shall be carried out in such manner as to reflect the federal character of Nigeria and the need to promote national unity, and also to command national loyalty thereby ensuring that there shall be no predominance of persons from a few states or from a few ethnic or other sectional groups in that government or any of its agencies’. “I don’t have problem with any part of Nigeria. But I have problem with the way government is directing its appointments. Over the last two to three weeks, Sir, we have had cause to either discuss this FERMA that has been announced today or the National Deposit Insurance Corporation or Asset Management Company of Nigeria or Federal Civil Service Commission. “The heads of all these parastatals have come from one particular part of Nigeria and this is completely unfair. We can’t sit in this Senate and allow that to go on. “So, I believe that we need to point it out to the federal executive to ensure that every part of Nigeria is represented in the running of Nigeria. This is completely unacceptable to me, Sir.
“I am talking about the leadership of these agencies. The leadership of these agencies, all of them have come from one part of Nigeria”.

BUHARI:I was rigged out three times

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday stated that he was robbed of the presidency three times after defeating his opponents.

He said this on Thursday when he hosted Nigerian artistes and Youth organisations to breaking of fast at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He, however, observed that the Nigerian constitution has provided him the opportunity to work diligently towards uplifting the quality of life of all Nigerians irrespective of their socio-political backgrounds. Buhari pledged that his administration would continue to implement policies and programmes aimed at creating an enabling environment for the youth to progress in different human endeavours. “We are trying very hard to normalize situation in the country for you. I’m very pleased with the position of our constitution. “No matter how good you are, you don’t have more than two terms and no matter how bad you are you can hardly last more than the first term. So, this generosity of the constitution I respect very much. “It gives me the opportunity to round up having been a governor, minister, head of state in uniform and then going to the Supreme Court three times to complain about my being rigged out”, he said. President Buhari also pledged that his administration would continue to encourage the youth to pursue their careers in meaningful disciplines to enable them become not only self-sustaining but also employers of labour in the society.
“I will continue to dedicate my time to make sure that Nigerians are enlightened on the importance of voter education because this is vital for good governance,” he added.

Nigeria:Niger Delta youths agitating, don’t say we didn’t warn you – Clark tells Buhari

Convener of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, Chief Edwin Clark, has told the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government that “the patience of the youths and other critical stakeholders in the region is waning”.

He warned the administration not to take the patience and patriotism of the people of the region for granted. Speaking in his Kiagbodo country home in Delta State, the elder statesman also lamented that jobs opening in the oil industry have been skewed in favour of the North. Clark said, “I want to remind you all, that our (PANDEF) intervention in the direction of peace and security has continued to help the national economy and contributed substantially to its exit out of recession. “From a drop in oil production to 800,000 barrels per day in 2016, today NNPC is producing over 2.3 million barrels a day, a fourfold increase. “The 16-point agenda which we submitted to Mr President has yet to be properly addressed. The only tangible item that has been attended to is the take-off of the Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State. “Our other requests such as the setting up of a Joint Negotiating Team for sustainable peace, relocation of oil companies back to the region…are all totally neglected or being addressed with unfulfilled promises.” While debunking the Nigerian military’s claim that their presence in the region had led to a sharp increase in the nation’s oil production and halted attacks by suspected Niger Delta militants, the former federal commissioner stressed that the current peace in the region was a result of the intervention of PANDEF. “Let me note that the total federal budget in the last three years has been as follows: 2016(N6.07tn); 2017 (N7.44tn); now N9.1tn has been appropriated for 2018. “Similarly, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo announced a few days ago that the Federal Government had so far invested N510bn on infrastructural development in the last three years. Let me also recall a recent statement by the Minister of Finance that the 2017 budget was overspent by a large sum of N1.6tn. “Can the Federal Government in truth and good conscience tell us how much of this mammoth sum came to fund projects in the Niger Delta? Is this fair, just and equitable? Is this how people who contribute so much to sustain national economy should be treated? “We want to call on the Federal Government, once more to retrace its steps regarding the proverbial goose that lays the golden egg. “We continue to enjoin our people to be law-abiding an “Our young people and communities must not always be provoked to adopting unorthodox means to pursue their legitimate and unalienable rights as Nigerians and particularly as communities from where the wealth of the country is coming.”
